Week Five
St John’s Priory Update January 29th 2010
Dear Parents
Congratulations
Special congratulations go to our dancers who put on a spectacular Dance Show last night. The dancing was of the highest standard and the costumes were superb. It was an excellent evening and our thanks go to everyone who helped to put it on. Particular thanks, of course go to Mrs Lindsday MacPherson, who did most of the organisation and designed and made all the costumes and Mrs Rachel Foster who planned and prepared the show, choreographed all the dances and trained all the dancers. It was particularly pleasing to see that we had dancers from the Pre-prep right up to Year 6, showing great promise for the future. As from half term we are offering dance lessons to the boys and girls in the Saplings. If you have a child in this age group and are interested in dance lessons, please contact Sue Luckett.
Sport
The girls’ U11 hockey continues to go from strength to strength with a resounding victory over The Croft last Monday. Although played in Arctic conditions and on a grass pitch, our girls proved to be highly competitive and ran out worthy winners. The U10 team lost to a very strong Croft team, but played some good hockey. Full match reports are available on the website.
Unfortunately our boys’ rugby fixtures this week fell victim to the weather and frozen pitches.
Hoodies
We have completely used up our suppliers stock of Baby Pink hoodie material! Well done the girls! The suppliers assure me that they have managed to obtain some more and our next delivery will be with us at the beginning of the next half of term. Apologies to those who are eagerly awaiting delivery. It is not too late if you would still like to order a hoodie for your child, or indeed for yourselves. Please let Kate know.
