Weekly Update

Week Two

St John's Priory Update April 23rd 2010

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who came to the barbecue this evening. It was lovely to see so many of you there and the weather definitely helped to make the afternoon a fun occasion.

Sun cream and hats

Whilst it is lovely to be enjoying some beautiful early summer sunshine this week, it does remind us to be careful in the sun, particularly with the children. For children in the Early Years I would be grateful if you would send in a bottle of high factor sun scream, clearly labelled. It would also be advisable for parents to apply sun cream before school. For children in the upper school, it would be our strong re com mendation that they should have sun cream and we will advise them to apply it if it looks particularly sunny. I would also re com mend that all children should bring a suitable sun hat to school.

Clubs

All clubs have got off to a tremendous start this week. We are unfortunately still waiting for a response from the Banbury Canoeing Club, but hopefully we will be able to introduce this in the near future.

French Day

We are holding a French Day on Friday. It will be a non-uniform day com e dressed in berets and onions! There will be a French cafe at break time, a prize for the best dressed child, a special assembly and a French quiz. Please bring £1 to be donated to the school charity.

Information

Although we would not want to alarm anyone, we would like to mention that there have been reports of a man trying to abduct a child from outside a local school, in addition to being seen taking photographs outside at least 4 other schools. There is little information with regard to a description but he is said to be driving a silver Nissan Micra. We have been unable to have this verified by Banbury Police but one can never be too careful.

Parents Association

Many thanks to everyone who sent back questionnaires. They have given us lots of ideas for future events. Congratulations to Mrs Fossey who won the prize draw.

Reminders

If you would like to join us for a big family picnic at the Blenheim Battle Proms on July 17th , please let us know as soon as possible to take advantage of the SJPS discount.
