After 18 months of successfully re-cycling all the school’s waste paper and card we are now expanding our re-cycling programme to include some of the waste products from break time and lunch time.
From February 19th 2008 home composting caddies (green boxes) will be in the refectory (2), staff room and Pre-prep room. They will be emptied in to the composter in the playground by Year 6 children who are staying to prep.
What can go in them?
1. Fruit peelings, cores and pips
2. Left over salad and vegetable items
3. Tea bags
What can not go in them?
Other left over food like bread, meat and dairy items
(These go in to the regular litter bin or home in lunch boxes).
The packed lunch bags (which can go into paper recycling)
